Urodynamics courses in Australia

MMT exclusive distributor in Australia company Innologic is proud to announce TWO exciting new educational courses in urodynamics, presented by the acclaimed Bristol Urological Institute for the first time in Australia.  The courses are the “Bristol Basic Urodynamics Course” and the “Bristol Certificate in Urodynamics Course”.  Please see summary below and attached documents with detailed schedules. 

 

BRISTOL BASIC URODYNAMICS COURSE

This is a 2 day course, which will be held in Sydney on 3rd & 4th July 2017. The first day covers the theory of urodynamics and the second day is “hands on” with urodynamic equipment and the urodynamic staff.

Intended delegates: doctors, nurses, technicians and/or anyone allied to urodynamics who have little or no urodynamic experience.

Learning Points:

- appreciation of the philosophy behind urodynamic studies (UDS) as part of patient investigation

- basic knowledge of the principles behind the measurement of urine flow and pressure

- basic knowledge of the techniques of flow and pressure measurement

- ability to interpret straightforward urodynamic traces

- appreciation of the artefacts seen during UDS

- basic ability to operate urodynamic equipment

BRISTOL CERTIFICATE IN URODYNAMICS COURSE

This is a 3-day course, which will be held in Sydney on 5th, 6th and 7th July 2017. This course is focused on ensuring the quality of urodynamics (UDS) practice, the interpretation of UDS traces, and the role of UDS in the management of the different patient groups. The course finishes on the third day with a multiple choice and trace-based test.  

The course is approved by the International Continence Society and has CME approval from the British Association of Urological Surgeons.

Intended delegates:  doctors, nurses, technicians and anyone allied to urodynamics who have some urodynamic experience (more than 6 months experience is recommended).

Learning Points

- appreciation of the philosophy behind urodynamic studies (UDS) as part of patient investigation

- knowledge of the basic physical principles behind the measurement of flow and pressure

- knowledge of the role of UDS in investigating children, women, men and neurological patients 

- ability to recognise artefacts seen during UDS, and the knowledge of how to correct them

- ability to interpret urodynamic traces

- knowledge of the techniques of basic and specialist urodynamics, including urethral function and video-UDS
